What kind of become-a-programmer site would dare override the “Hello world!” message?! Not this one, that’s for sure.
Well, after finding myself laid off from a non-tech job I hated anyway, I found myself brushing up on the changes in the web world. Where it was all mystery, speculation, and confusion in the community when I left, HTML5 and CSS3 are now in full effect, and awesome like WHOA. But who am I to ever be content? I will eventually learn to program in school, but why wait?!
And so my journey has just officially begun.
Against every fiber of my will and drive to jump into the deep end as I always do, I took some advice and went through a video course on Programming Fundamentals, before starting an actual Java education. And I’m so glad I did! The examples of code syntax and its capabilities were presented well. The descriptions and comparisons of the various programming languages and their purposes and applications were great. But best by far was the insight and reassurance provided. The process is now demystified, fear removed, and I am so excited to start!
